It was a normal day on Facebook, when I saw something different. A friend of mine, teacher at Kulosaaren yhteiskoulu, proudly posted a picture of a newly decorated classroom. The walls of the room were converted into a huge mural with a huge photo of an astronaut floating over the earth.
All of my memories of school have them look like hospitals, plain, simple, boring and claustrophobic. But this was cool! I had to investigate.
Through my friend I contacted the rector and they let me visit the school to take some shots. They have many rooms decorated and each one is independent from the others. From the space adventure, to Harry Potter, passing by the 50’s or some Finnish nature landscapes. It just makes going to school more appetizing.
